VT-Machine of Axial Compact design

In 1966 Sundstrand Corp  proposed concept , patent GB1140167A , of the axial piston machine with compact             piston, while Poclain Hydraulics, proposed improvement in 2004, patent EP1564370A1, regarding                                    synchronization mechanism .

Both patents describes machine with straight cylinder bores. that limits maximal swash plate angle; due to               the two mechanical interferences. First one is between piston rod and straight cylinder bore. Second one is               between  shaft and the swash plate..   Mentioned drawback can be seen as the obstacle fort the wider                         spread  of this technology, even this technology has potential for improved mechanical efficiency. comparing           to existing axial piston units.

Main characteristics of the standard axial piston versus advanced MAC

New, advanced  concept of the MAC machine is proposed with inclined cylinder bores in order to push the limits relating to mechanical interferences. According to CAD analysis  21° can be archived resulting in decreased €/cc and increased efficiency.. but it has to be tested experimentally. Additional  advantage of the new concept is hydrostatic lubrification between cylinder and piston that will further reduce friction i.e. increased mechanical efficiency:

Mentioned advancements are result of the in depth analysis using CAD SOLIDWORKS, Excel for 2D analysis and Matlab for 3D analysis, as well as MATLAB....

... quest for the more energy efficient hydrostatic machines, more cost effective machines, more sound acceptable machines isn't stopped  and some new concepts are under development ...
